I could make this post a hundred pages long, but I’ll try to keep it short and sweet.
I can remember clearly the day I found out I was pregnant. I walked out to the couch and placed the test in front of my husband. We could not have been more excited to embark on this new journey.
This pregnancy went by quick. Unlike most people, I was not anxious to get to the finish line. I did not wish and hope she’d come early. I didn’t try everything imaginable to induce labor. I actually remember hoping I’d go past my due date.
In my last trimester I got a sudden burst of energy. I felt better, physically, than I had in years. Something about the extra blood flow, coupled with extreme joy and excitement, made medical issues I’d had for years, seem to disappear.
I wanted to stay in that moment. I wanted to hold my baby inside, feeling her kick and turn every second of my day. I didn’t want to lose that yet.
My amazing sisters, mom and aunt threw me an incredible baby shower, that I still drool over.
I gave birth to Porschia Jerilon on March 18, 2012. I can’t even explain to you how AMAZING that experience was. There had never been anything in my life that came remotely close to it. This was the first picture that was taken, as I held her in my arms.
I was overwhelmed with joy, unable to speak, when this miracle slipped into my world.
She gave me such an amazing gift that day and as long as I live I will be trying to make it up to her.
We love you Porschia. Infinity times infinity. ♥
